Sometimes your life needs a little struggle in order to grow, to be better and stronger. It is necessary. These are your growing pains.
“God instructs the heart, not by ideas, but by pains and contradictions.”
As the child of parents this is what I have come to realise. I am actually reminded of a time that I sat my parents down one day to tell them to let up a bit, to let me live, to let me make mistakes and learn from them. I remember I suggested that maybe they could let us as kids get involved in our own parenting. I was probably sounding really retarted then I can imagine and maybe a little even now but the more I think about it, it is inevitable. Sooner or later you’re out on your own, making your own decisions, your own mistakes anyway and all you have is your intuition, your experiences and God waiting to catch you. That kind of faith requires a certain level of trust. The kind of trust that isn’t to be toyed with I might add. It sort of creeps up on you gradually and it sets in slowly.
I guess it’s kind of like learning how to ride a bike isn’t it? You have training wheels at first, then you think you know I’m good I can do this. You take them off you trust yourself and all that you know. It is of course comforting or not to know that what you think you know combined with what everyone on the planet thinks they know is probably a fragment of God’s infinite wisdom.
Ok where was I. Oh yes! Your life needs a little struggle. Which is kind of why I’m awake right now at 1:55am on a Tuesday morning because I am struggling to sleep. I’ll figure it out i’m sure. It’s kind of like an alarm clock. Hence the blog, it’s all very poetic I swear, maybe a little more in my mind right now.
Your life needs a little struggle. Trust me no one has it that good. Ask Joseph, Job, ask Jesus. Success comes with pain. They are wedded. You have to go through it.
“Love sometimes expresses itself in sacrifice.”
Your life needs a little struggle. If that alarm clock doesn’t ring, you better be worried because you might be missing out something big in your life. When your very old car breaks down every other week, alarm clock “get a new car”. When you’re out of breath from chasing your daughter around the table, once, alarm clock, “go to gym or take up jogging” if you want to live long enough to see her graduation. If your whole life seems like it’s a struggle then you have been snoozing for far too long and it’s time to get up and live. Most importantly trust God that he will meet you halfway even all of the way if he has to. That’s God’s favour.
The truth is that It’s easier to trust God for others than to trust God for your own life. God knows, he made you.
Your life needs a little struggle.
Wake Up!
